Thought that may be it's a nice idea to post about the interview at Bain and Co. This is how it went:Round 1
1) Tell me about yourself
2) There's a project on my CV that's a part of Dr Raj Reddy's vision. I was asked to share the experience of meeting Dr. Raj Reddy and what all feedbacks did he give about the project, if any
3) I was told to explain a little about the System Thinking skills that I wrote on my CV
4) Was asked to share the experiences of organizing things like felicity, farewell and musical night
5) What is the first thing that Mr Hemant Rokesh (my FYP guide) would say about you if we call him up right now?
6) Why Bain when you could get a lot better technical companies to work for?
7) Why exactly do you believe that you're fit for this kind of a job?
8) Do you understand that you're moving out of technical stuff (coding etc)? Are you ready for that?
9) Suppose that a chair company wants to start over a manufacturing plant in India. What are the various aspects that it'll have to look in before actually going for the venture? [Had to consider supply side, demand side, customers' views, competitors, market, infrastructure, increasing demand, which part of the country would be more beneficial, estimate of the product cost]
10) What all aspects will brand like Ferrari have to consider if it plans to open a manufacturing plant in India and when it plans to launch it's latest product, it's latest car in India?
Round 2
1) Tell me about yourself. [It has to be consistent with the previous answer. They surely take points etc]
2) Why Bain and why not the other options that you already have? Give reasons for rejecting each one of the previous three offers
3) A lot of questions on extra-curricular activities
4) An Italian company is planning to open up a manufacturing plant for premium shirts (Rs 1400/ and above) in India. I was shown a chart that had all bar graphs made over it. Had to study that and give views as to whether the business is profitable

If food (low-fair airlines do not offer them) etc is the only difference, how is it that these low-fair airlines manage to make profits by selling off the tickets at such a low rate. Is the business profitable?

Hey man, congratulations! I'm also going through some Bain interviews. What tips / advice do you have for preparing for the cases?
- Oli
@Anonymous: Thanks Oli!!
1) You could check this for some sample questions: http://students.iiit.ac.in/~akansh/blogstuff/case.ppt ..
2) Or jes search for 'sample estimation questions' on google. M sure, u'll get lots of them..
3) During interview, try putting down the points on a piece of paper before you start speaking. I was specifically corrected to do this.
what is your answer for "why bain?.. and why not something elsse"
@Pramodh: I chose to answer in a way where I explained my long term and short-term goals clearly and how Bain helps me achieving both of them.. And the answer is genuinly true.. There are other ways too where ppl answer things like work-culture, work itself, salary, location etc..
