Protecting IIIT Hyderabad Girls Hostel

What?? Are these women a part of the current security team? In times of need, even men aren't able to fight back, how exactly are the women expected to act/react then? It is good that the concerned authority got the security guards changed (to a 'more' reliable team) after the IISc firing. But, putting up female guards in girls hostel looks like a foolish step. If you necessarily wish to keep a woman there, keep atleast one man outside the hostel gates. How can the authority be so careless at this?

Not that those things happen all the time or even frequently for that matter. Not that the IIIT students would do any mischief. But the arrangements should be made so as to handle those kinda issues the very first time itself.

I happened to talk to one of those female guards and came to know that her name's Jhansi and I unintensionally laughed out thinking if that name's gonna protect the girls, something like Jhansi ki rani.. For now, God save them in times of trouble.
