No locks allowed / required

My dad's planning to visit a place very near to Shirdi [famous for Sai Baba]. This place, called Shingnapur has a well-known Shani temple. Shingnapur is located in Maharashtra and is often heard about for a very strange thing. As per the information, there aren't any locks required in that place. Infact, one wouldn't find even a single lock in the whole area. No locks on shops, no locks on houses, none of the cars are locked, not even the two-wheelers, nothing at all. Till far away, you wouldn't find a lock to buy. Not just that, the houses are built without doors. For privacy, curtains is all that can be used.

People there believe that Shani dev flattens out the tyres of any vehicle that's locked in that place. Some even believe that one who steals in there, goes blind and thus, no one dares to do that. It might sound really backward but such places do exist in our country. And none of these stories are cooked up btw. I can say that because one of my uncles has already visited that temple twice. I am waiting for my dad to visit the Shani temple and provide me with more 'reliable' information.

Check out the location information here
