Machines v/s Human Beings

We had this topic being discussed in STS class today.. And the prof was like that machines can be higher in the hierarchy even in respect of emotions. They plan to build up an emotional machine. They boley to these scientists. I dont believe it. I simply dont agree with that.

Emotions - first of all they are not something that can be defined in a restricted set. Even if one says that tell me all the kinds of emotions u have, its difficult as every situation can again be dealt with hundereds of emotions. So, basically its kind of permutation the emotions with emotions.. Dont u think thats difficult. Rather, thats impossible. Obviously, we can build up a specific machine, but building a generalized technology is just not possible. Dont u think that we trying to be GODs of this world. GOD has given us something special that non-living things dont have in them. And we trying to make those non-living things equivalent to men or rather higher in some other respects. Arent we insulting GOD.. What the hell are we doing on this earth. Obviously, GOD has given us the right to use this brain. Afterall, he gave it to us to use it. And since everyone has a written destiny, one cant stop trying things that are worth giving atleast a try.

Everything's fine. We must try, we must do our level best effort that scratches our mind like hell. But, we should equally realize the fact that these emotions are to be respected. We shouldnt just keep on doing something without caring for anyone's emotions.

I dont know what to say. Ultimately it boils down to the fact that everyone's independent to do things his/her own way. So, philosophies might be different; thinkings might be different and so will be the actions. GOD bless all
